Clipboard History 0.2.1 — Complete · maintained

Build and open
--------------
Extract into a permanent folder and run build.bat on Windows 10 or 11.
It uses the .NET Framework C# compiler supplied with supported Windows systems.
No prebuilt executable, installer or additional runtime dependency is included.
Click the clipboard icon in the notification area (possibly in its overflow).

Recording and limitations
-------------------------
Clipboard History does not read Windows + V history, by design.
It records new clipboard text, images and file references in memory, starting
with the current clipboard when enabled. Retained history disappears on quit.
Windows clipboard history may run alongside it or be disabled independently.
Normal copy/paste and the direct Capture & Paste connection do not depend on
Windows + V history. Deleting entries here does not alter Windows history,
the current clipboard or source files. History is not a file backup.

Text, Images and Files
----------------------
Each populated column has its own rounded box, scrollbar and remembered limit
of 1–100 entries (20 initially). Old Keep settings migrate into all three limits.
Headers, counts, Clear/Delete and settings stay fixed. A subtle top shadow shows
when a column has scrolled. Wheel, scrollbar, Page Up/Down and Home/End browse
one column; Tab reveals an entry without moving the others.

Click an entry to copy it. Drag across entries or Ctrl+click to select several;
Delete removes the selection. Ctrl+A selects all. Clear empties its column.
Long text offers View full text only when its preview is clipped. The read-only
viewer preserves the complete text and supports scrolling and selection.
Close, Escape or clicking outside dismisses it without copying or losing position.

Screenshots and image files (PNG/JPG/WebP/AVIF/HEIC/TIFF/SVG and others) belong
in Images. Other files/folders belong in Files. Mixed selections split into
image and other-file groups. Multiple images remain a grouped entry. File copies
paste their original paths, without re-encoding; those files must still exist.
Unsupported decoders show file names. Image metadata gives time/current status,
known resolution and file format. Groups list their formats. Clipboard bitmaps
are stored as PNG and display PNG, not an inferred original file format.
New files saved in the Windows Screenshots folder can also be collected.
The app does not register or change Print Screen.

Privacy and Capture & Paste
---------------------------
Skip copies marked private starts ON and is remembered. The copying app supplies
the marker; no image-content analysis is performed. Turning this off keeps
supported private copies, including sensitive material from other apps.
Unmarked sensitive content can still be recorded. Windows history/sync settings
are unchanged.

Receive screenshots from Capture & Paste starts OFF. Enable it and run both
Clipboard History 0.2.1 and Capture & Paste 0.6.0 or later in the same Windows
user session. New captures arrive automatically once; earlier captures are not
imported. This opt-in includes temporary/private Capture & Paste screenshots,
even with general private skipping ON. Retained images outlive its ten-minute
clipboard cleanup, until deleted, trimmed or Clipboard History quits.
Turning integration off stops direct delivery; normal recording still applies.
The main Off control pauses both paths. Connection needs no network or service.

Status and settings
-------------------
The line beside On/Off shows useful activity and errors. Its right-hand arrow
opens session-only status history over the columns: five messages per page,
5–50 retained messages (20 initially), at most ten pages. +/- changes the exact
saved limit; lowering it trims immediately. Clear empties the log. Escape or
the arrow closes it. Messages have at most 160 characters plus time and never
contain copied content. Ctrl+D copies a content-free diagnostic report.

Moon/sun switches native light/dark appearance; preferences share the existing
Mouse Parker, Download Spots and Hide All theme setting. Start with Windows is
on initially. Quit ends recording; Close dismisses the page. Off is remembered.
Text copies are limited to one million characters. Image transfers are limited
to 40 million pixels with one pending decode. Retained text/image/thumbnail
payloads are capped at 256 MiB; older entries can drop before their count limit.
This is not a total process-memory guarantee. No history is written to disk;
settings are stored in the current user's registry. Original code is MIT licensed.

Uninstall
---------
Uninstall asks first, removes startup/settings and closes the app, then deletes
its known files from its own extracted folder. Legacy Windows-history helper
files are also eligible for cleanup. Other files are left alone. If blocked,
delete the folder manually. Windows clipboard history remains untouched.
