Extract to a permanent folder, then run build.bat on Windows to build and launch the app. The supplied script requires the .NET Framework C# compiler it looks for on your computer. No prebuilt executable or installer is included.
Watch the folders you choose and give new files a place to land. Download Spots moves eligible new files to your Desktop and places their icons in the first available spot, filling your chosen grid from left to right and top to bottom. This moves the files themselves, not just their icons.
Choose the landing spots
Select desktop-grid cells and let new arrivals fill the free ones in reading order. Existing files are left alone when watching begins.
Choose what happens when they fill
Leave new files where they arrived, or move them into a selected folder when no desktop spot is available.

Open Move log to inspect recent moves, skipped placements and reported problems.
Desktop spots need Auto arrange icons off and Align icons to grid on. Start with Windows is enabled on first launch. Read the setup and practical limits.
